we will offer an altar to honor our collective losses. you are encouraged to bring photographs, special items, candles, and/or nature items as offerings for this community altar.
we will offer space to drop in to your heart. when we come together in community, it's important to be able to turn inward as well. it can be grounding to come back into contact with your breath and your heart. we will offer meditation practices throughout our time together.
we will offer space to share personal stories of grief and loss. it can be powerful to be express our grief in community. it can be powerful to be witnessed—simply seen and heard—without anyone trying to fix or make it better. it can be powerful to witness others share their stories of grief.
we will offer gentle movement that supports and soothes our nervous systems. it's important to keep our bodies moving as big emotions move through us. we will offer stretching, yoga postures, and other helpful movement practices throughout the day.
we will offer journal prompts with time to write, unedited. starting with a writing prompt, we can be surprised to find what our grief longs to express. writing can be a helpful resource on our grief journey.
we will offer supplies and direction for creating special hand made items for your home altar. creativity can be a highly supportive way to move our grief into objects that honor what we are holding. you will leave with something unique and meaningful to your heart.
In addition to providing sacred space and offering our hearts, we will have tea, water, and light snacks. We will have the supplies needed for our creative project.
Dress for comfort. Bring items for comfort: a yoga mat, blanket, pillow, and anything that brings you comfort to have near. Bring photos and/or items for our community altar. Bring a lunch and your tender, precious heart. All emotions are welcome.
